My ways of opening conversations with women are not extraordinary in any way, but they are very easy and consistently effective. In pickup, I believe having the ability to be creative, and making things as simple as possible while still producing consistent results are what matter most.
As far as the actual approach goes, I only use three types of openers. There isn’t a need to memorize a ton of openers. It all goes with my principle of doing things easy and effective. Having too much information in your head will only clutter your thought process, especially for you guys that are new at approaching.
The three types of openers I use are my default opener, an observational opener, and in certain situations for daygame I’ll use a direct opener. My favorite type of opener by far is the observational opener, but it usually works best in low energy environments or in daygame.
With the observational opener, you’re going to need to show some creativity, and some quick thinking. So when you observe something interesting about the target, the set, or just the overall situation or environment, you just say it to the set or the target in a fun and witty way. For example, if I’m walking through the men’s department at Macy’s and I see a girl who works there and I know she’s about to ask me if she can help me find something, before she actually starts talking, I just say, “Hi, is there something I can help you find today?” That always gets a good reaction and it starts a fun role playing conversation.
I use my default opener most of the time when I open sets in a loud environment like at a bar. In a loud place, and where alcohol is involved it’s usually best to go with the simple default opener, and then once you’ve grabbed her attention, then you can become more creative. My default opener is always a variation of ,”You look like fun, so I wanted to come over and talk to you.” Then just transition into a fun cold read. It really is that simple.
A direct opener is simply stating your attraction for her. The direct opener would be more apt for situations during the day when you and her probably have very little time. It’s also good for situation where you try to stop a girl who is clearly in a hurry because she’s walking fast. During the day, especially during a week day, people are busy, so you have to game fast. Also, being direct during the day will show your that your a very confident guy and by doing that it could spark attraction. Usually it’s not a good idea to show direct physical interest at a bar because that’s pretty much what every drunk guy does once he has his liquid courage. During the day, being direct separates you from every other guy, but at night in a bar environment it actually lumps you in with every other guy.
